ADHD, What is It?

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is perhaps one of the most controversial problems of the 20th century.It is politics and money surrounding the disease and its treatment.This does not help that while there are millions of children and adults around the world diagnosed with ADHD,no doctor or expert can identify a clear origin,cause or cure for ADHD.The definition of ADHD even changes as new discoveries are made.What is ADHD?

Although doctors and experts on the disorder have their own opinions about how the disorder ADHD or attention deficit hyperactivity appears and how it should be treated,there are two main schools of thought on how to properly manage this condition.

Perspective of traditional Western medicine is most commonly used.A traditional doctor will tell you probably that ADHD is a developmental disorder caused by an imbalance of neurotransmitters in the brain.Neurotransmitters are essentially brain chemicals that relay messages and signals between brain cells.When an individual has the wrong number of neurotransmitters,he/she will experience uncontrollable hyperactivity.
